SILBERMAN, BSW CHILD WELFARE COURSE CURRICULUM

The Silberman School of Social Work is launching a practice–based BSW program that will prepare diverse New York City students for front line positions in two important, and growing need areas: Child Welfare and Care Coordination.

The need for skilled child welfare workers in: Protective service, Preventive service, Juvenile Justice, and Adolescent services is increasingly evident in NYC.

The BSW child welfare curriculum will focus on developing a professional, entry level child care workforce.   Our graduates will have theory informed, practice knowledge and field training that prepares them for casework and case management assignments in child abuse and neglect, foster care, adoption and preventive services, with families, youth, and adolescents.
