EDUCATION & TRAINING

The National Center for Child Welfare Excellence provides education and training through a range of mechanisms. The NCCWE partners with the ACS James Satterwhite Academy for Child Welfare Training and the NYC Administration for Children's Services to develop, educate, train, and support New York City's child welfare staff, supervisors, and administrators to provide family centered, culturally competent services to protect children from maltreatment, achieve permanency, and promote child well-being.

The MSW program at Silberman offers a range of courses related to child welfare.  Multiple opportunities exist to prepare future practitioners and researchers through dissertation research and graduate assistant positions for PhD and MSW students. Faculty members are featured presenters at major national and international conferences and present results of their research and practice to community groups and through peer-reviewed papers at national conferences.
